Frequently asked questions
-
We do preauthorise for your selected maximum fill amount - this is the amount you choose in the app just before you fill. A preauthorisation “sets money aside” for the future fuel transaction. We do this to help customers avoid filling their car and then realising they do not have enough money in their account to pay.
Preauthorisations usually appear straight away on the statement in your banking app.
As soon as you complete your fill and hang up the hose, we make the charge for your fuel purchase AND instruct the bank to clear the preauthorisation. For most, the preauthorisation clears very quickly (and the bank statement updated to show the charge for the fuel). If you have any questions about this, or want to share your experience with us (including confidentially) please do reach out at support@ezyst.com.au

Please be assured EzySt will only ever charge you for the fuel you actually buy, at the price shown in the app.
If you are seeing the “maximum fill amount” appear on your bank statement (and the fuel you purchased was less than this), then the preauthorisation has not yet cleared from your bank statement - it should happen soon - we instruct the bank to clear the preauthorisation as soon as you hang up the hose. See our notes above for more information on this.

Yes! While we are initially running a pilot program at certain locations, retailers will soon be publishing offers on EzySt for sites throughout Australia.
-
Offers may be limited in number or have an expiry date. The offer card in EzySt will tell you how many are left and for how long. Be quick so you don’t miss out!
-
Once you tell EzySt what you like, you’ll start seeing offers for the things you want. Simply complete your deal preferences in the main menu in the EzySt app.
-
On EzySt, you get more of what you want. You can receive special fuel prices not available to the public, and convenience store deals that reward you for your spending. And yes, you can still use EzySt to compare fuel prices in the market.
-
EzySt fuel price offers dynamically change and automatically update in the app.
The retail fuel prices displayed in EzySt in relation to the Northern Territory, NSW, Qld and WA are sourced from the State government fuel price transparency schemes (and owned and licensed to us by Northern Territory Consumer Affairs, NSW FuelWatch, Fuel Prices Queensland and FuelWatch WA respectively). These are updated in the Northern Territory, NSW and QLD at least every 30 minutes. We update prices once a day in WA, as that’s how frequently prices change in the FuelWatch scheme.

Please never use your mobile phone while filling your vehicle – you should use EzySt from the safety of your car if possible. If on a motorcycle, you should start the transaction and press “fuel up” before putting your phone away in your pocket or bag before lifting the hose and filling your tank.

Yes! Motor fuel is a combustible product which is inherently dangerous. We care about your safety and the safety of others on the service station forecourt. Please:
Use common sense and keep your wits about you.
Familiarise yourself with the safety signage, physical layout of the site, the location of the emergency equipment and make yourself aware of the location of vehicles entering, driving on and exiting the service station.
Observe the requirements and recommendations of any such safety signage and/or any directions of any staff of a Participating Site.
Never smoke at a service station.
If you are aged under 16 years old, you must not dispense Motor Fuel.
Never fill your car while it is in motion or if the engine or ignition is on.
